Sunrunner Water Taxi is a locally owned business providing transportation, tours and fishing on beautiful Kachemak Bay. Sunrunner Water Taxi is operated by Captain Joe, who has been working and fishing on the waters of Kachemak Bay and Cook Inlet for over 35 years.

The Sunrunner is a 24ft Hewescraft Alaskan with full electronics, private restroom and safety gear. Captain Joe can take you anywhere in Kachemak Bay for sightseeing, hiking, camping, biking or salmon fishing.

Water Taxi

Sunrunner Water Taxi will provide you with safe, fast dependable transportation anywhere in Kachemak Bay. Kachemak Bay State Park has many miles of trails to explore. Hikes range from easy to difficult with glaciers, glacial lakes, streams and mountains providing beautiful vistas. The park supports many species of marine life and land mammals including otters, porpoise, sea lions, black bears, and mountain goats.

Wildlife Tour’s

Take a tour of beautiful Kachemak Bay and experience it’s many sights and abundant wildlife. It’s a place where otters play, eagles soar and shorebirds flock in masses. Also the bay is home to Gull Island, a small rocky island where over 15,000 seabirds gather annually to nest on it’s cliffs. In the bay you will find numerous small bays and coves to explore and beaches ready for beach-combing. Kachemak Bay is rich in history and untouched beauty. It’s pristine waters support and nourish one of the most diverse marine inter-tidal areas in Alaska.

Salmon Fishing

With over 25 years in the sport-fishing industry, Capt. Joe can take you trolling for salmon in Kachemak Bay State Park waters and other exciting locations in the outer bay. He will provide you with the finest gear and tackle to ensure your success. Sea otters, seabirds and an occasional porpoise, seal or whale are often seen on these trips. Be ready to take pictures!
